When I remember the carefree years of my childhood, I have a home kitchen in my mind. The kitchen where Mom and Grandma ruled, where the most wonderfully fragrant and tasting cakes in the world were made, where conversations on various topics were held all the time. Mom and Grandma are no longer in this world today, but there are beautiful memories and ... recipes. Some of them were written down in notebooks, some passed on orally. The love for baking and giving sweets to loved ones has also been passed down in her genes.

Why gingerbread?

Gingerbread Mania is the result of the family's love for baking and my passion for art. Looking for a place for myself in the confectionery world, I first tried my skills in decorating cakes with icing. However, it was not easy to reconcile caring for small children and working on cakes. Decorating the cake should be short enough not to expose the layers of cream to heating. Sometimes it was unrealistic to do with two little ones.

My sister came to my aid by funding a gingerbread decorating training course with Ania Komisarczyk from A ja to gingerbread as a birthday present. Intensive training and subsequent practice allowed me to develop my skills. Both those related to baking cakes and artistic skills.

At the same time, gingerbread was such a grateful material that I could postpone decorating them for long weeks, if only the situation at home with my children required it.

How did Gingerbread Mania come about?

Shortly after the gingerbread decorating training, I came up with an idea to create my own funpage where I could show my frosted works to the world.

Funpage got the name PiernikoMania. Over the years, when orders for richly glazed gingerbread increased, there was a need to move the production to a place larger than home kitchen.

In this way, in April 2019, the first gingerbread house in Poznań was officially opened. It is here that we bake gingerbread cookies in many different flavors to this day. Here you can drop in for aromatic coffee, work remotely, eat homemade cake or buy gingerbread for various occasions. It is also here that we run workshops for children and adults as well as professional confectionery training in the field of decorating gingerbread cookies with royal icing.

Development of the gingerbread business

PiernikoMania is a brand that is constantly developing. We try to take part in trainings, confectionery competitions, be present at various gingerbread events.

Each participation in a competition or training is an opportunity to meet other people who are positively crazy about confectionery and gingerbread. Such meetings usually bring motivation for further development, work on yourself, they are also a driving force for further action.
